Election in Venezuela: What does it mean?

Held in the midst of a deep economic crisis, the outcome of the Dec. 6 National Assembly elections in Venezuela is a serious setback for the Bolivarian Revolution. Despite its electoral defeat, the governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) retains a strong mass base, the presidency and other important positions, and has vowed to continue the struggle.

Will the Paris talks solve the climate crisis?

As world leaders meet in Paris to discuss climate change solutions, the people of the world are demanding immediate action. Can the climate crisis be solved under the capitalist model—where profits outweigh the people and planet—or is a new system the solution?
