Pope's US Visit:
Father Junipero Serra was no "Saint" - come hear Elias Castillo, author of Cross of Thorns:The Enslavement of California's Indians by the Spanish Missions

$5 and up, benefit for Revolution Books

On September 23rd, Pope Francis will hold a mass in Washington DC to canonize Father Junipero Serra, the founder of the California Mission system. The Bay Area is dotted with statues and streets named after Serra. And every year thousands of tourists visit the Missions which are preserved and enshrined as idyllic places where Franciscan friars and Indians lived in an environment of mutual respect. But this is a myth and the opposite is true. Revolution Books will host an event with Elias Castillo, author of the book Cross of Thorns, which documents the damning reality - that Serra, the founder of nine Missions in California was no "saint" and that the Missions were genocidal -- places where Native people were lured and then incarcerated, forced to work, beaten, tortured and where over 60,000 died.

What does it say about the Pope, the Catholic Church and this whole system that it would make a saint of someone responsible for crimes against humanity and genocide?

"A Cross of Thorns" pulls back the veil of lies, deceit, and cover-ups that has been perpetuated for nearly two hundred years. --Valentin Lopez, chair of the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band of the Costanoan/Ohlone Indians

Tomorrow is the Pope's Canonization of Juniper Serra a California Missionary who enslaved and Killed Indigenous Peoples of California. Some protest this in the Indigenous Community but not this Indigenous Elder as I embrace the revealing role of the Church in Genocide and Colonization of this Land. The Thirteen Indigenous GrandMothers tried to get to talk with the Pope to release the Vatican"s Death Grip on Mother Earth and He Refused. The Church (Captain Kirk as Kirk is Scottish for the Church) was the leading tool to pacify or Rape or Kill the Indigenous way of Life. The only Good Indian is a Dead Indian which led to the State Sponsored genocide of California where 150,000 Indigenous were Murdered in a two year period during the Gold Rush. So if you did not make your quota in the gold fanaticism which poisoned the Streams you could clear the Land by Shooting a Indigenous Man, Woman or Child and get Paid. The Pope and the Vatican has always been a Nazi, Child Molestation Murderous entity and is just is exposing their Evil in the final days of their World (Kali-yuga Age). This Elder will be celebrating their unveiling of Evil and bidding Farewell to them from Turtle Island, Aho
