When Cuba lost access to Soviet oil in the early 1990s, the country faced the immediate crisis of feeding the population and the ongoing challenge of how to create a new low-energy society. The film tells the story of the Cuban people's hardship, ingenuity, and triumph over sudden adversity through cooperation, conservation and community. "Cuba has disproved the myth that organic agriculture cannot maintain a modern nation," said Dale Allen Pfeiffer. Join us for the special screening. Light refreshments will be served.
