Police Corruption Music Project Reaches Funding Goal in Two Days
Monterey musician Rob Hustle announced that the IndieGogo campaign he launched this week to raise money to produce "Good Cops," the sequel to his single "Call the Cops," a song about police brutality, reached it's funding goal in two days. "People are tired of the way they are being treated by the police. And it's time that artists stood up and gave voice to those feelings," Hustle said in a message released to his audience. "People are hungry for artists to speak out," he said.
According to Hustle, the video for Call the Cops has received over 50 million views worldwide.
On his IndieGogo page, Hustle describes his new song as follows: "Good Cops is a song that I wrote to raise awareness about problems in law enforcement. It takes on issues like official corruption, abuse of power, and police accountability and answers the question, "If 99% of cops are Good Cops, why are there still so many problems?""
Hustle is asking for help to take the song to the next level by:
1. Sharing the campaign link
2. Making a donation in cash or bitcoin
Hustle says he is a completely independent artist, and he doesn't have many resources, but that he found he was still able to reach a large audience with his message.
"What Call the Cops taught me is that one person fighting for something they believe in can reach millions. If you think that this issue is worthy of reaching millions more, please help me spread the word," he said.
