Interviews from the mass action that took place last Friday, July 10, in New Orleans. Hundreds of people from all over the country came to protest the federal lawsuit that blocks President Obama's deferred action programs from being implemented. The rally began early in the morning by the Italian "Monument to the Immigrant" on the river in Woldenburg Park. Protesters marched together through the French Quarter and CBD until Poydras Street, when one group led an act of peaceful civil disobedience outside the ICE office that led to the arrests of 14 immigrants rights activists. WTUL caught up with another group of protesters and a brass band who staged a noise demo outside the Fifth District courthouse on Camp Street where judges heard oral arguments on the appeal of the lawsuit.
