Marriage Equality: How it was won – what’s next?
Friday, July 17, 7pm
2969 Mission St., SF

In June, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the civil right of same-sex couples to get married. The lesson of this great victory is clear: laws only reflect the demands of the masses in the streets. It’s the LGBTQ movement that won this historic victory. But the struggle for equality isn’t over.

Right after the progressive marriage equality ruling, the court issued a decision making it easier for big corporations to pollute. What is real history of the court and what is its role in society?

The Fight vs. Austerity & Cutbacks

From the U.S. colony Puerto Rico, to Greece, Spain and Ireland, to right here people are standing against cutbacks and austerity. The giant banks and corporations are demanding that govern-ments cut pensions, healthcare, education and other basic needs in order to make the rich richer.

Join us for presentations and political discussion.

Igualdad Matrimonial: ¿Cómo se gan1ó – Qué sigue?

viernes, 17 de julio, 7pm
2969 Calle Mission, San Francisco
