Country Joe McDonald pitched an idea to the Social Justice Ctee. of the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists to celebrate the genre of the “protest song” in a local Bay Area festival. The proposal evolved into a public call for artists for a full day of songs, poetry, comedy, and performance art from 10 am to 10 pm. 50 artists responded, and a back-up waiting list has been compiled. Food, non-alcoholic beverages, and fresh coffee brewing all day long! We are offering an open forum to Bay Area artists to sound off on their concerns! Each performer gets 10 minutes, which is usually time for two songs or several poems.

Sponsored by the BFUU Social Justice Ctee
Suggested donation $5-$10. No one turned away.
