On May 9 of this year, Russia and progressive people around the world celebrated the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. Why is Russia, not the US or the UK, today celebrating the end of WWII? Was the U.S. the main country that defeated fascism in WWII?

The Soviet Union accomplished what the rivals of German imperialism had failed to do: to break the back of Fascism. Watch the “Unknown War” documentary, showing how, through a socialist planned economy, the Soviet Union was able to destroy the most powerful war machine up to that time. The movie will be introduced with a brief history of WWII and followed with a “Myths and Facts” presentation on the realities of WWII. Join us for the film showing and discussion.

La Unión Soviética logró lo que los rivales del imperialismo fallaron en hacer: romper la espalda del fascismo. Vea el documental “La Guerra Desconocida,” mostrando cómo, a través de una economía socialista planificada, la Unión Soviética fue capaz de destruir la más potente maquinaria de guerra hasta ese momento.
