Opportunities and Challenges in Cultivating Indigenous Scientists Wednesday May 20th, 2015 4:00-6:00PM Engineering 2, room 599 Kim TallBear (University of Texas, Austin) will join us to discuss how genomics is co-constituted along with ideas of race and indigeneity (the topic of her 2013 monograph, Native American DNA) and the novel roles that Native geneticists are playing in intervening in these processes to create a more just and democratic approach to genomics.
