Dear CIIS Community and attending audiences, It is with great joy that I hereby announce and invite you to Sins Invalid: Performance Excerpts, Film Screening, and Q&A on April 21at 6:30pm in Namaste Hall. “ Sins Invalid is a performance art project on disability and sexuality that incubates and celebrates artists with disabilities, centralizing artists of color and queer and gender-variant artists as communities who have been historically marginalized from social discourse” (http://www.sinsinvalid.org/). Sins’ groundbreaking work in ARTivism is developed and implemented against a backdrop of politicized disability justice initiatives at the grassroots level. These are exciting times to have Sins Invalid visit CIIS. Community reports of police brutality show that the physical abuse of racialized disabled minorities continues rampant in the United States.
