$15 | single class // $105 | 7-class series
MACLA hosts Aguacero's artistic director as she teaches this exciting Bomba class; Bomba originated in Puerto Rico and is a high energy dance with a strong relationship to drumming and rhythm.
Students will learn traditions, basic steps, postures, and musical executions or “piquetes” of Bomba dance and rhythms from the Santurce and Loiza regions of Puerto Rico. The series also introduces partner dancing and connecting percussion and song, as they are interconnected and inseparable from Bomba dance. The classes are enhanced by live music by Bay Area percussionist Ali "Choco" Luna. Visit bomba.eventbrite.com for more details.
