one thing that's great on these cases oil companies record everything very nicely

and send it to the state
they also report when they really screw up

and they write it down


and the culture was at the time

we're going to write down that we screwed up here and caused a big probl

but it's not a big deal because nobody's going to come get us

we're not going to get in trouble about it
it's just an economic thing we're documenting


because we missed out on some oil.

we really didn't do any harm.

they first say

it wasn't us
if it was us, we didn't know, suit is too late
if it wasus, and you're on time, it didn't do any damage
no one is using the groundwater right now.

or you really can't prove it's our brine we can go back 1000s of years where there was a river with salt in it.
