1. CONSENT CALENDAR
k. Authorization to Purchase Four Ford Pursuit Vehicles
(McCrystle/O’Connor) (Resolution) (Budgeted Funds)
These are police vehicles. The EBRPD has it's own police department. Something to be aware of. Last autumn they voted for the "Authorization to Apply for Federal Grant Funds from the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) for Mobile Command Satellite Downlink System" (Rasmussen/T. Anderson/Collins) (Resolution) (No Cost) ... on October 21, 2014.
Scroll down to page 48 of the aforementioned link for further information about these police vehicles. As is typical these days, there is NO bidding. So it'll be $31,212 plus an additional $3,550 in required equipment upgrades.
The East Bay Regional Park District also has: a Ballistic Armored Tactical Transport (BATT) armored personnel carrier from The Armored Group: http://www.swat-vehicles.com/batt-vehicle.php; 10 M-16 rifles and an M79 grenade launcher, courtesy of the DoD 1033 program.
