1,500 march for Peace and Social Justice in Fresno

by Mike Rhodes (mikerhodes [at] comcast.net)
A large march (the Fresno Bee estimated 1,500 people) was held on Martin Luther King Day in downtown Fresno. The marchers were there to honor King’s life. Many also came to demand police accountability, peace, social and economic Justice. Here are some photos from the march and the audio from Dolores Huerta’s keynote address.

At the front of the march were elected officials, Dolores Huerta, community activists, and family members of Les Kimber. Kimber, who died on January 10 2015, was a key organizer of past marches, a former Fresno City Council member and a Drum Major for Justice in this community.
