Marissa Alexander, a Black woman who was outrageously & unjustly arrested, prosecuted, and incarcerated when she fired a warning shot into the ceiling - injuring no one - defending herself against a violent abuser, is once again in jail.

PLEASE come to our FREE MARISSA NOW Teach-In and Direct Action Planning on Sunday Dec 14th from 1-4pm at the Berkeley Public Library, Main Branch Meeting Room, 2090 Kittredge St., Berkeley

At the Teach-in we will give the background and status of her case and also review the context within which Marissa’s case exists including the legacy of racism as it intersects with sexism and the development of the prison industrial complex.

Most importantly, we will be planning local direct actions to make Marissa Alexander a household name and the fight for her freedom a STAND UP & FIGHT BACK cause for all of us!

FREE MARISSA NOW! It's up to us!
