PROMOTING MORE THAN A BOOK, HE IS PROMOTING A THIRTY YEAR WORLD WAR.
Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta will be speaking about his new book, "A Worthy Fight" tonight at the Peace United Church of Christ on High Street in Santa Cruz, California today, Monday November 10th.
We support any and all nonviolent actions this evening. Both those out on High Street and those planned by members of the congregation and local peace activists inside the war promotion event.
This October 6th Panetta told USA Today that “I think we’re looking at kind of a 30-year war,” he says, “one that will have to extend beyond Islamic State to include emerging threats in Nigeria, Somalia, Yemen, Libya and elsewhere.” His book which I have reviewed attempts to justify his participation in what the United Nations and other human rights groups claim are war crimes. He should be arrested.
WHY ARE WE PROTESTING?
Former Secretary of Defense and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency
Leon Panetta, former CIA director and secretary of defense, will address the failure of Obama to support the war in the former Iraq and Syria.
Former CIA director Leon Panetta discusses the threat posed by Islamic State and offers a critical review of Obama's performance as president. He speaks with USA TODAY's Susan Page in edition of Capital Download. More on Panetta's desire to arm the allies of the Islamic State:
By rejecting the advice of top aides — including Panetta and then-secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton — to begin arming Syrian rebels in 2012. If the U.S. had done so, "I do think we would be in a better position to kind of know whether or not there is some moderate element in the rebel forces that are confronting (Syrian President Bashar) Assad."
