Write in Vote for Cindy Sheehan
Write in Vote for Cindy Sheehan for Governor
I have just received my mail-in ballot which has space for write in votes for all state offices. I will be writing in Cindy Sheehan for governor because I would never vote republi-con and Jerry Brown is a D. I. N. O. I encourage other like minded voters to do the same. It is not too late to request a mail-in ballot. Just follow the instructions on the last page of your sample ballots. Voting my conscience from now on.

In any case, unless there (somehow) clearly is a write-in space for these offices in your county, I wouldn't recommend "trying" to write-in another candidate, as (depending on your county), it might actually end up invalidating your ballot!
And here is an article from "Ballot Access News" entitled, "Independent Congressional Candidate Files Lawsuit Against California’s Ban on Write-in Voting in General Election" (here: http://www.ballot-access.org/2014/07/independent-congressional-candidate-files-lawsuit-against-californias-ban-on-write-in-voting-in-general-election/ ) which refers in the first sentence to, "...California's ban on write-in votes in the general election for Congress and partisan state office".
Here in Berkeley (Alameda county), we have to "fill in arrows" on our ballots to make our vote count. In my sample ballot, for Governor, it has an "arrow to fill in" for Jerry Brown (D), and for Neel Kashkari (R), but that's all that's there -- there is NOT an arrow (or even a space) for anyone else. However (as I mentioned before), the voting system varies by county, so maybe (somehow) in your county there still is a space there. But, according to the "Top Two" rules that were enacted two years ago, there are not supposed to be any write-in candidates for Governor (or other partisan offices) for this election. So, if you "officially" want to find out if your write-in vote for Governor (or any other partisan office) will count or not, I suggest you telephone your local County Registrar of Voters. (The telephone numbers for all of the counties are here: http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_d.htm And if they say "Yes", please let us know what county you're in -- so we can all move there so our votes will count, because where I live, we're not allowed to write-in anyone, any more!).
