tires slashed on google shopping express truck in Mission District

this saturday the 14th, a few people slashed the tires of a google shopping express delivery van when it was stopped in traffic in the Mission District. the driver was so out of it they didn't even notice and drove off slowly with the rest of the vehicles. its not clear where the truck finally broke down or how much the delivery schedule was affected but another truck would be needed to complete the route. we now declare open season on every vehicle connected to the gentrifying tech companies. go forth, comrades! to a world without commodities, money, or exploitation...

The delivery vehicle made it up to Dolores and 16th, with 2 slashed tires.
We noticed the driver was an older (looked to be mid-50s) Latino man.
Talked with another driver down the block, but also on Dolores, a couple hours later. This guy was of African descent and was a little freaked out that people were talking to him. We asked whether he worked for Google or a contractor. Nervously, he said his direct employer was a one-day delivery service called 1-800Courier (here's their website: http://www.1-800courier.com/). This is an Atlanta-based logistics company, much like UPS or FedEx.
These guys were obviously overworked, underpaid -- and fearful -- members of the working class. Not unlike the kids of color who deliver pizza in my own residential San Francisco neighborhood. If someone orders are large pepperoni with their app, are you going to slash their tires too? Are the tires of Uber, Lyft and Sidecar vehicles targets too? If not, why not?
And while we're at it, San Francisco has been overrun by Art Academy University shuttle buses for decades. Why aren't their tires being slashed, to show how they're fucking up the local housing market by gobbling up real estate and taking rentals off the market (to create dorms for spoiled art students)? And what about all those annoying hospital buses, shuttling wealthy healthcare workers to Kaiser on Geary, St. Mary's near Golden Gate Park, California Pacific Medical Center's various campuses, St. Francis on Nob Hills, and the UCSF sites all over town. Aren't these overpaid, benefited workers your enemies too? Then slash away at their van and bus tires, as they tie up routes of Muni. And don't you care about the environmental health of the planet? Why aren't the shuttle buses, filling up Muni routes on Market, getting their tires slashed as they run genetic engineers to their labs around Mission Bay.
Why are only elderly working class Latinos employed by 1-800Courier getting the tires of the cars they're driving slashed? And where were you anarchists when Muni drivers did a 1/2 week sick-out against management's concessionary contract? Don't you have class consciousness? Or do you only hate on working class drivers employed by contractors, who actually are only logistics firms contracting their services to tech companies?

while i agree with your sentiment towards some of these companies, consider the consequences of slashing that truck's tires. these actions did nothing to google to company, but probably had repercussions on the truck driver who, surprise surprise, is not the plutocractic tech overlord that you are looking for. if you really want to hurt google, you need to reconsider because all this accomplished is potentially get that blue collar driver fired from his job...
Not only did your actions put a man's job and life at risk, but you also forced the employees of a small company to work overtime to meet the requirements of their contract with Google. Your actions are idiotic and deplorable. Please re-evaluate your opinions and tactics. At the very least, please do not take out your aggression on the hard-working people of this country.

Where is the appropriate place to fight back? If minions 10 levels down are just working people who should not be inconvenienced and workers on google/apple buses are not the top decision makers so they should not be bothered either, then who or what is a fair target? Everyone becomes just a cog in their ever-expanding wheel of influence and dependency, from workers to consumers, to those that sell them bagels, and therefore no one is individually responsible for what the overall beast is doing. The higher up the pecking order you go, or the closer to the south bay headquarters of these operations, the more security and protection you'll find. There are soft targets and hard targets for protest and disruption. What is the most effective? Which have the best chances of making even a dent in the empire?
Almost every civil disobedience action that blocks roads or whatever is criticized for inconveniencing commuting workers and yet social justice often requires disruptions in the real world, to raise awareness of the issues, or to show an example of people resisting, if not actually pushing the ball forward. when youre in jail, you want something to disrupt the routine of workaday people not realizing there are people in jail based on racial and islamic profiling. who cares if someones ''job'' is disrupted, heck, youre in jail on false charges. you want the workaday people to see the terror of american society represented by jails. go to jail and see if you like it. not everone in jail is there because they did something. they talked back to homophobic assaulter and cell phone call was made by the homophobic or anti pagan assaulter and you being non christian athletic all american, you go to jail on false charges and are traumatized . a little of ''no business as usual'' is at least something. most people are drones enslaved by ''employment''.

Interestingly, other information about the connection of certain Scientology members to some of the secret government's "unusual" experimental research activities comes from premiere mind control researcher and author Alex Constantine, who has authored a wealth of excellent books and articles on the general topic of government sponsored, administered and operated mind control projects, including certain of those based on electromagnetic/radio frequency transmissions.

But of bars in Chicago?
SceneTap, a new app for smart phones, uses cameras with facial detection software to scout bar scenes. Without identifying specific bar patrons, it posts information like the average age of a crowd and the ratio of men to women, helping bar-hoppers decide where to go. More than 50 bars in Chicago participate.
As SceneTap suggests, techniques like facial detection, which perceives human faces but does not identify specific individuals, and facial recognition, which does identify individuals, are poised to become the next big thing for personalized marketing and smart phones. That is great news for companies that want to tailor services to customers, and not so great news for people who cherish their privacy. The spread of such technology — essentially, the democratization of surveillance — may herald the end of anonymity.
And this technology is spreading. Immersive Labs, a company in Manhattan, has developed software for digital billboards using cameras to gauge the age range, sex and attention level of a passer-by. The smart signs, scheduled to roll out this month in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, deliver ads based on consumers’ demographics. In other words, the system is smart enough to display, say, a Gillette ad to a male passer-by rather than an ad for Tampax.
