May 23rd is a National Day of Action to Close Guantanamo. It was one year ago that President Obama last committed to close Gitmo, and CodePink co-founder, Medea Benjamin personally engaged him at that Press Conference. One year later it has still not happened, and it is time to raise our voices in a united nationwide call to action!
PLEASE JOIN US!
We will have orange jump suits, pictures of the GITMO prisoners, and a new GITMO banner which can be used at future actions as well; a picture of it is attached.
In San Francisco, you are invited to take part in a downtown rush-hour public rally:
Where: Powell and Market BART Plaza (Fifth and Market),
San Francisco By the Cable Cars
When: Friday May 23rd, 4:30-6:00 PM
Rally & Speakout: Orange jumpsuits, speeches, poetry, words from Guantanamo prisoners themselves, a reading of their names, banners and photos.
