A 10 Day Peace Walk to Resist Drone Warfare and Global Militarization, San Francisco to Beale Air Force Base, Marysville.

Airmen at Beale control the Home of the Global Hawk, a surveillance drone complicit in illegal targeted killing by drone missiles. Everyone is welcome to join all or part of this walk to peace. Or, join us on May 17, Saturday, for our Kick-off Day:

10:00am: Rally at Golden Gate Bridge Plaza, S.F. side of bridge
11:00am: Walk to middle of Golden Gate Bridge and back
12:00-3:30pm: Walk along the San Francisco Waterfront, from Golden Gate Bridge to the Ferry Bldg.
3:40pm: Take the Ferry to Vallejo, for our first night in Vallejo.

You can also greet us as we arrive at Beale AFB on May 26 in the late afternoon. Join us for our celebrative potluck and encampment just outside the Main Gate on N. Beale Rd. and/or join our big protest on May 27, 6-8am, as airmen arrive to the base.

Below is a summary of our 10 day walk:

Day 1: Saturday, May 17th, 10 am: San Francisco to Vallejo. The Ferry to Vallejo costs $13. This leg is @ 7 Miles of walking.

Day 2: Sunday, May 18th: Vallejo to Rockville Hills Park (West end of Fairfield). This leg of the walk includes beautiful landscapes and countryside, and includes a bit of climbing through beautiful Rockville Hills Park the last two miles The walk will include a stop near I-80, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Highway, to pay homage to the man who warned us of the Military-Industrial Complex. This leg is @ 15 Miles of walking.

Day 3: Monday, May 19th: Rockville Hills Park to Pena Adobe Park (near Vacaville). We will walk through vineyards, pay our respects to Mother Earth via a charming bronze statue, stop at one of several produce stands to enjoy the local fares, pass through downtown Fairfield, and finish the walk through some beautiful countryside, ending up at Pena Adobe Park, that includes a scenic lagoon. This leg is @ 12 Miles of walking.

Day 4: Tuesday, May 20th: Pena Adobe Park to Vineyard RV Park (Vacaville). Leaving scenic Pena Adobe Park, we pass through the quaint, little town of Vacaville and have reservations to camp. Request $5/person for camping. This leg is @ 10 Miles of walking.

Day 5: Wed., May 21st: Vacaville to Dixon, CA. We do not currently have a place to stay in Dixon. Our only option thus far is to share a hotel room. This leg is @ 9 Miles of walking.

Day 6: Thursday, May 22nd: Dixon, CA to Davis, CA. We have permission to stay at a community church in Davis, right next to Central Park. Occupy Davis is planning to have a welcoming rally/potluck at Central Park. This should be a lot of fun with great music, food and an update on the U.S. Drone program. This leg is @ 9 Miles of walking.

Day 7: Friday, May 23rd: Davis, CA to Sacramento, CA Friday morning, before heading to Sacramento, we will walk to the Monsanto Davis Lock Down happening that day at their Corporate office. Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/394542770690715/ Monsanto manufactured Agent Orange among many other atrocities. Also on this day, when we reach the Sacramento River we will have a moment of silence for Guantanamo Bay Prisoners as well as all prisoners being unjustly held around the world. We will stay near the Capitol, camping at 5 Rivers Art Collective, 315 V St., Sacramento. This leg is @ 15 Miles of walking.

Day 8: Saturday, May 24th: Sacramento to 15 North We will walk to the March against Monsanto action happening at the Capitol Building at 11 am. Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/427960777291632/ This should be BIG! After staying for a bit at the action we will walk 15 miles north to camp at a TBD location. This leg is 15 Miles.

Day 9: Sunday, May 25th: 15 Miles North of Sac. to 30 Miles North of Sac. We will walk 15 Miles from camp to camp. Location TBD. John Jerpe will help provide a meal for us at this stop. Thank you, John.

Day 10: Monday, May 26th: 30 Miles North of Sac. to Beale Air Force Base, Main Gate We will arrive at the Main Gate to camp the final night at 3 pm. We will hold our protest at the gate, and I will offer a copy of "A People's History of the United States", by Howard Zinn to the Base Commander. Other actions TBD. We will hold our normal Potluck/Vigil and camp near the gate. This leg is 15 Miles. The following morning, we will have our final large protest from 6-8 am, as airmen arrive to the base.
