We are hosting an All Fruit Lovers Gathering on Saturday, May 10th at noon at 120 Walk Circle on the west side. This is a meeting open to anyone interested in learning more about the Fruit Tree Project and possibly getting involved. It’s also a potluck lunch, with our house contributing samples of dried fruits, olives, jams, and wines made from past years’ harvests.
We definitely need more people to help keep this project going! We’ve had four great seasons, with the project growing stronger every year. However I am no longer able to keep putting in the vast number of volunteer hours I have in the past, and we don’t yet have the funding to support even a 1/2-time position. So to make 2014 a success we’re going to need more of you to get involved. Our goal is to keep our fruit harvests and processing workshops going strong, and in 2015 to expand into also organizing tree planting, grafting, and pruning events.
