Cowell College, Stevenson College, and the Dept. of Languages and Applied Linguistics at UCSC are pleased to announce “The Miriam Ellis International Playhouse,” which will present its 14th season of fully-staged theater pieces from May 15 through 18th at 8:00 PM, at the Stevenson Event Center on campus. The program will feature works in 5 languages, with English supertitles, Admission is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. Parking in Cowell/Stevenson lots will be available for $4.00 at pay stations.

This unique multilingual, multicultural program will include works in Chinese, “Three Pots of Tea,” an original piece written and directed by Ting-Ting Wu; French will be represented by scenes from Marcel Pagnol’s plays, MARIUS and FANNY, directed by Miriam Ellis; in Russian, Natalya Samokhina will direct her students in a folk tale entitled “Cheburashka and Crocodile Ghenan,” written by Eduard Usdensky; Hebrew music and dance, “Songs of Israel,” will be performed by students under the direction of Galia Rosen; and Spanish students will offer Gabriel García Márquez’s “Something Very Serious is Going to Happen in this Town,” with Marta Navarro directing.
