The Santa Cruz Peace Chorale presents “The Struggle Carries On!” Saturday, May 17th at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 2402 Cabrillo College Drive in Soquel. The concert and silent auction celebrate the Peace Chorale’s 12th season of singing out for peace & justice.
Under the musical direction of Aileen Vance, the Santa Cruz Peace Chorale presents traditional & contemporary songs that offer alternatives to hatred & violence. The chorale has been called a “community treasure” and was honored by folk icon Pete Seeger’s personal contributions to its repertoire.
The silent auction begins at 7:00 pm. Come early to bid on local art, fine wines, gift certificates, crafts, services, and more. The concert begins at 7:30. From labor anthems to elegant hymns, from classic folk songs to traditional South African four part harmony, there’s sure to be cause for singing along! Stay for more bidding and home-made treats. The choir depends on member pledges and community support to keep on singing.
Requested donation of $15.00 at the door. No one will be turned away.
