Former Pacific Grove Police Commander Arrested for Making Threats of Violence
In what has been a busy week for holding police officers accountable in Monterey County, the District Attorney has announced that John Nyunt, a former police commander with the Pacific Grove Police Department, was arrested early Saturday morning, March 1 at his home in Monterey.
Nyunt was booked on felony charges of committing criminal threats in violation of Penal Code section 422. The victim of the threats is his former wife Kristin Nyunt.
Nyunt is being held on $500,000 bail. His arraignment is expected to take place on March 4.
This arrest comes on the heels of last week's announcement by Monterey County District Attorney Dean Flippo of the arrest of six King City Police Officers following a six month investigation into alleged corruption.
