Assembly Member Alejo Statement on Allegations Against King City Police Officers
by Luis A. Alejo
Sunday Mar 2nd, 2014 11:49 PM
(SACRAMENTO) — The following is a statement from Assemblymember Luis Alejo (D-Salinas) regarding the recent allegations brought forth against six King City police officers.
“I cannot help but feel outraged by the alleged actions of the six King City police officers in question. The thought that hundreds of my constituents—many of whom are poor, hardworking immigrants—had their cars taken, impounded and embezzled by the very people who had sworn to uphold and enforce the law is disheartening. These few bad actors have damaged the reputation of an honorable group of men and women and tarnished the history of a beautiful city.

“In the coming weeks, I hope to see justice served both for the sake of families in our community and for the integrity of law enforcement everywhere. I commend the District Attorney’s office and the investigators who uncovered the moral and ethical violations that have been taking place in King City for far too long.”

Luis Alejo represents the 30th District in the California State Assembly, which consists of the Salinas Valley, Monterey County, San Benito County, South Santa Clara County and the city of Watsonville in Santa Cruz County.

6 officers are not all being accused of corruption, two officers have nothing to do with that case. This is a horrible comment made by Mr. Alejo.

Six police charged.

Four police charged for the towing corruption.

Two officers charged for other things.

One civiliian charged for the towing corruption.

Mr Salinas is correct, but the other two cops sound like criminals.
