U.S. sabre rattling towards Syria and Iran has been blunted for now by Russian and U.N. initiatives to eliminate chemical weapons in Syria and by political initiatives by Iran's new President Hassan Rouhani. What are the real origins of hostility between the U.S. and these two countries, the war in Syria, and the prospects for peace?
Dr. Sharat G. Lin writes on global political economy, the Middle East, and labor migration. He lived through the beginning of the Lebanese civil war and witnessed historic transitions in Tahrir Square during 2009-2012. He has written extensively on policy towards WMDs. He is a research fellow at the San José Peace and Justice Center. Free and open to the public Bus routes: 23, 323, 25, 51, 53, 54, 55 Sponsored by the DeAnza Green Party Club and the Institute of Community & Civic Engagement at De Anza College Endorsed by the San Jose Peace and Justice Center ![]()
