“Protest beyond the law is not a departure from democracy; it is absolutely essential to it.”
― Howard Zinn

Canadian tar sands are more corrosive, toxic, and volatile than conventional crude.
Mining consists of brutally clear cutting sacred Indigenous Boreal forest. The Boreal Forest Biome is the largest carbon sink/storage forest on the entire planet.
Next they strip mine the soil for toxic sandy tar-like sludge. The sludge is then heated and doused with chemicals and our precious fresh water supply to separate the sand from the bitumen (tar sands oil).
Tons of toxic waste water is produced filling toxic sludge ponds that can be seen from space. Forever tainting immediate water ways and ground water.
Canadian companies are foaming at the mouth with dollar signs flashing in their eyes to funnel with pipes, or rail this evil oil through the U.S. to be refined and then sold on the Global Market.
And, NO, the Bay Area isn't safe. Tar Sands is already being refined at 4 of 5 Bay Area refineries.

Are we going to silently stand by? No.
Will we fight for the future of the planet? Yes.
Will justice prevail? Only when critical mass is reached.

As the Climate is changing, activists are mobilizing.
We the people are rising with the tides to demand justice for the planet and the future generations.

Join us or wish you would have.

"Democracy is not something that you believe in, or something that you hang your hat on. It's something that you do, you participate. Without participation, democracy crumbles and fails. If you participate, you win, and the future is yours".
Abbie Hoffman
