Ohad Sarfaty at ODC
July 10th – October 14th, 2013
Artist Reception: Friday, July 26th, 6-7 pm
ODC Theater Lobby | 3153 17th Street, SF CA 94110
Root Division is thrilled to partner with our neighbors at ODC by curating the theater lobby with the work of our Studio Artists and Affiliates. This season, we present the work of former Studio Artist, Ohad Sarfaty. Sarfaty’s mixed media paintings explore the shifting mythology of the American Dream. Brightly colored layers of acrylic, spray paint and graphite both conceal and reveal ideologies and identities through familiar tropes of sports, the military, and pinup fashion. Drawing inspiration from his experience of relocating to across the country several times as a child, Sarfaty uses 1950’s iconology to explore the range of emotions associated with Americana.
Artist Reception: Friday, July 26th, 6-7 pm in the ODC Theater Lobby
