The first national educational conference will be held as part of LaborFest http://www.laborfest.net to look at what workplace bullying is, who is doing it and how to fight it.
Speakers from around the country will be presenting on these issues and what working people can do about this epidemic in the workplace including legislation.
Only by educating, organizing and publicizing these issues will be able to confront and challenge this growing problem for working people and the public. Many of those who are being bullied are also whistleblowers about malfeasance in the workplace and are targeted for doing their jobs.
Panelists will include:
Dr. Gary Namie, National Director of the Bully Free Institute; Stacie Plummer, City Of Richmond Library Worker and IFPTE Local 21 Steward; Brenda Barros, SEIU Local 1021 San Francisco General Hospital; Dr. Derek Kerr, Greg Sorozan President, SEIU/NAGE Local282MAHealthworkplace.com; Dr. Larry Rose, former Director of the Cal Osha Medical Unit; Carrie Clark, California Health Workplace Advocates; Kathleen Carroll, attorney, Rhea Settles Educator, Linda Cooks former teacher at SF MLK School, Sean Gillis IFPE Local 21 Oakland City Worker and others.
