About 40 children under the age of five die every three minutes, many from easily preventable causes. Providing prenatal and postnatal care, educating mothers and making vaccines available could drastically decrease mortality rates. These solutions are simple, yet implementation remains sparse. Dr. Bing has a solution: scale down the healthcare system by training individuals to open micro-clinics and micro-pharmacies in hard to reach, rural areas.
