The current conversation in education is all about privatizing testing and evaluation and teaching. I cannot believe anyone who has had ANY experience teaching in a public school can really think that these are actually long-term solutions for our education system! Where is the discussion about how we can help our public school teachers reach out to an increasingly diverse group of students, how we can help them adjust to and effectively use technology in their classroom, how they can handle the increasing demands on their time (reports, revisions of curriculum, increased reporting to parents and administration) and how to deal with the anxiety of the possibility of being shot at in their classroom!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is it that teachers are being systematically undermined, their profession corrupted, and true education abandoned?
How does it serve the powers that be to have uneducated worker bees?

Could it be that if you are uneducated, don't know history, or your rights, or even how to express yourself you are more easily led? Brainwashed by corp media? Make a better enslaved worker?

Remember it used to be punishable by death to teach a slave to read.

We punish teachers in Seattle for teaching grammar. It's not in the (Gates) approved Writers Workshop curriculum.

And Gates continues lobbying for more "educated' (i.e. low paid) foreign workers.

How masterful of him. Destroy a generation or two of American kids while blaming them, and their teachers, for being uneducated.

These protests ring real hollow when we know most of the Americans in this crowd always vote Democrat. You cannot keep voting for evil people and expect anything good to happen. The Democrats only exist to make sure you never vote Red or Green. That is why they mouth a few decent phrases at election time and then when elected, carry out the same capitalist agenda as the Republicans as they are paid by the same capitalist class to maximize their profits, the primary goal of this bankrupt society.

We are faced with a complete collapse of this society, from the schools, to housing, to pensions, to putting fluoride in our water, to poisoning our air, soil and food, to promoting fossil fuels and nuclear power instead of solar, wind and tidal power, to promotion of prisons and the death penalty and above all, promoting blood for oil wars and its accompanying fascism and false flag Inside Jobs at home to maximize profits, the greatest profits being in oil and munitions.
