EARTH FROM SPACE
by NOVA

This movie is about the Earth and how it provides for all life! Really, the Earth has actually been supporting all life -- not to mention creating it -- for some 3.8 billion years! See -- under water -- where the Gulf Stream originates and how it keeps the oceans fresh and moving. See how dust storms in the African Sahara carry important nutrients all the way to the Amazon Rainforest. See water evaporating over the tropics and ice melting in the Arctic. See the periodic outbursts of lightning, auroras, wild fires, and plankton. See the full extent and protection of the electro-magnetic field out in space.

This film gives us state of the art knowledge and fantastic moving images of the whole Earth in some of its important life supporting cycles. Undoubtedly you have spent this Earth Day healing your part of the Earth; now spend the evening watching some of the ways the Earth is healing itself and all its life! It’s no good trying to describe this film — its visual richness — you just have to see it to believe it! It’s two hours long and never lagging! Refreshments will be on hand!

Humanist Hall is wheelchair accessible around the corner at 411 28th Street
