Campaign Finance Reform writ big

Date:
Thursday, March 21, 2013
Time:
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Event Type:
Teach-In
Organizer/Author:
David Giesen
Location Details:
Notable House
189 Ellsworth St.
San Francisco, CA 94110

What if instead of using post-modernist reductionist thinking in the political and economic spheres, we employed wholistic approaches to social questions?

What if instead of putting caps on campaign spending, instead of putting restrictions on who could donate how much, instead of attempting to bar cooperatives of interested parties called Corporations from allocating funds to political campaigns,

What if, instead of all that stop-gap denigration of accumulated fortune we simply disallowed unearned private or corporate income in the first place?

Attend a two hour paid workshop on campaign finance reform that argues for first the elimination of unearned income, then the removal of barriers to allocations of time and earned income to causes, interests, and campaigns.
