On the Death of Hugo Chavez

by Steven Argue
“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”

― Malcolm X

Hugo Chavez just died.

Many brain dead Americans who were taught by the capitalist media to hate him will cheer. Despite being repeatedly elected by the Venezuelan people, the propagandists of U.S. imperialism portrayed Chavez as a dictator. This is just another typical lie of U.S. imperialism.

Hugo Chavez stood up to U.S. imperialism in limited ways that included refusing to privatize Venezuelan oil and spending some of that oil money on the needs Venezuelan people. This cut into imperialist profit. As a result, the United States helped organize a coup in 2002 that installed a capitalist dictatorship and no doubt would have killed Chavez and much of the leftist opposition, as CIA organized coups have a tradition of doing in Latin America. Yet, that didn't happen because the Venezuelan people rose up, splitting the military rank and file from the military brass. In the end, the military brass knew that they had lost their grip on power and that there would have been a revolution if they didn't bring Chavez back. So they did.

The people had won against U.S. imposed tyranny. Yet the fact that Hugo Chavez never tried to abolish the capitalist state or the capitalist system has kept the limited gains won through his leadership in a precarious position. Those gains must be defended against U.S. imperialism and the Venezuelan capitalist class as those enemies of humanity will try to use Chavez's death to push Venezuela backwards.

Yet, Venezuela needs far more than Chavez's reforms of an otherwise capitalist system, Venezuela needs a proletarian revolution that socializes the economy and smashes the capitalist state. A revolution which among other things will include eliminating the abusive capitalist police forces and guaranteeing full employment, housing, education, and health care.

U.S. Hands Off Venezuela!
Defend the Gains Won Under Chavez!
Smash the Capitalist State!
Forward to Workers Power and a Socialist Economy in Venezuela!
End U.S. Imperialism Through Socialist Revolution in the United States!

-Steven Argue of the Revolutionary Tendency

Poor Chavez! That's really too bad.

You're going to have to normalize a peoples resistance building up in these streets before you can overthrow the U.S. empire to free the world of U.S. imperialism. America will have to be relieved of its (police state) before it can be freed from anything else because the police are the domestic violent arm of U.S. imperialism. That means organizing a resilient resistance movement that doesn't back down in the face of violent heavy handed police repression. You're going to need a movement as big as OWS but militant like Greek Anarchists and Egyptian warriors. And you need to be tactical and methodical in the way you move on the streets. You're going to need strong people who can fight back against the cops who are fit to run back n forth and make lines of riots cops retreat.

WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK! MAY 2013 BE A YEAR OF CHAOS THAT DOESN'T LET UP!

There are no coincidences. US imperialism failed in its 2002 coup attempt against Hugo Chavez, so it induced cancer, which can be done. Cancer is simply a sign that the immune system has broken down, which is why it is common among old people as old age is by definition a breakdown of the immune system. Chavez' likely successor said so:

"Nicolas Maduro, whose government role had grown after Chavez went to Cuba for treatment, was belligerent early Tuesday. He reported the expulsion of one of the two U.S. attaches, and also said that "we have no doubt" that Chavez's cancer, first diagnosed in June 2011, was induced by "the historical enemies of our homeland."

"Maduro compared the situation to the death of the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, claiming Arafat was "inoculated with an illness" and said a "scientific commission will prove that Comandante Chavez was attacked with this illness."

Also, immediately after Chavez died, unidentified thugs attacked the people of Venezuela, as reported by Associated Press.
"In one, a group of masked, helmeted men on motorcycles, some brandishing revolvers, attacked about 40 students who had been protesting for more than a week near the Supreme Court building to demand the government give more information about Chavez's health."

"The attackers, who didn't wear clothing identifying any political allegiance, burned the students' tents and scattered their food just minutes after Chavez's death was announced."

"They burned everything we had," said student leader Gaby Arellano. She said she saw four of the attackers with pistols but none fired a shot."

This means the US government thugs are in Venezuela ready to install their puppet to steal the oil of Venezuela.

How do you KNOW that Chavez' cancer was induced by the United States"? I'm not saying it wasn't, but aside from the fact that you and Maduro hate the United States, I'm not sensing that you possess any qualification to make such a claim, so authoritatively.

Remember, "I hate the U.S." isn't a qualifier for such a claim. Anything else I'm missing?

Also, doesn't Steve Argue himself actually work for the imperialist government? How does that work?
