The December 16 gang rape and beating death of a 23-year-old student in Delhi, India, sparked sustained and angry protests around the world.

A video of young men in Steubenville, Ohio, joking about the gang rape of a 16-year-old girl made international news when it was shared January 2 by Anonymous.

200 people marched through San Francisco Mission district January 11 in solidarity with many women who were sexually assaulted in the neighborhood over last year.

Join a discussion about the global rape crisis and how to confront it. Featuring Deepa Kumar, author of Islamophobia and the politics of empire.
