"The Art of Protest" is an exhibition of 26 original silk screen poster prints documenting campus social protest movements in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Archivists and participants in the student strikes at California public universities will tell the history of political posters in the twentieth century, and their first-hand experiences in political activism and artwork.
Keynote speaker:
Lincoln Cushing – Archivist, Kaiser Permanente Heritage Resources
Guest speakers:
Gil Villagrán – Lecturer, School of Social Work, San José State University
Sharat G. Lin – President, San José Peace and Justice Center
"The Art of Protest" will be on display at the California History Center from January 15 through February 28, 2013. Exhibit hours: Tuesday-Thursday 9:30 am to noon and 1:00-4:00 pm, and Friday by appointment.

Co-sponsored by the California History Center and the San Jose Peace and Justice Center
