LAFCO Meeting: Potential scheduling of the UCSC North Campus applications

At the January 9, 2013 meeting LAFCO expects to discuss the status of the applications and the potential scheduling of a future public hearing on the UCSC North Campus applications.

The Local Agency Formation Commission of Santa Cruz County (LAFCO) canceled the LAFCO meeting scheduled for December 5, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. The only potential item on the agenda was a public hearing on the North Campus applications: Application No. 928 expanding the City of Santa Cruz Sphere of Influence, and Application No. 929 authorizing the City of Santa Cruz to provide water and sanitary sewer services to the North Campus.

The reason for the cancellation is that the Sixth District Court of Appeal issued a decision on November 27, 2012 that the Environmental Impact Report addressing the applications is inadequate. Therefore, LAFCO cannot act upon the applications at this time.
