Many leftie/progressive/Democrat San Franciscans have kin "back there" where Thanksgiving turkey got et who are Republican/Tea Party/conservatives. And it's hard not to get all bunched up inside when the topic falls to politics and welfare and taxes and community vs individualism.

Come along on a walking tour of San Francisco's social movement history that will scuttle a lot of the old lines of contentious talk, and freshen things up with a whole new angle on politics and taxes. Be warned, though, YOU will be unsettled, too. It's not just your siblings, dad and mom who "have to change" some of their premises, you do too.

The Commons SF will pay $15 to any bleeding heart liberal resident of San Francisco with contrary kin who comes along on this walk. No kidding, folks; San Francisco's most original, profoundly spiritual and intellectual contribution to social philosophy is no simple palliative of your moral righteousness. But we do aver the conversation will change back home if you come on this walk.

Rain cancels, but that shouldn't return until afternoon.
