The holiday season is arriving quickly! GMO Free-Santa Cruz needs you in the downtown holiday parade December 1.
Prop 37 did not pass.. But this fight is far from over!! Come down to the parade and show support in spreading awareness to our community about GMOs in our food system, and the importance of labeling. People need to know what they are eating. It is our right to know!
Last year the parade was a fun filled morning of singing a GMO Xmas jingle, sign carrying and waving to hundreds of interested members of our community. The word wasn't out about prop 37, and the term "GMO" was not familiar to most, but after tireless months of signature gathering, volunteer help, newspaper articles, Michael Pollen and many other celebrities endorsing prop 37, most people have heard the importance of labeling. Yet it still didn't pass. Lets continue this fight for what is right! We need to show the community there is still a cause to fight for and it is not over!
Come dress up in farm attire, or your leftover prop 37 tees. Bring a sign if you can, we may have extras to share. We will be meeting at Spruce and Pacific ave at 9am.
