Demand an end to Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Israel has escalated its attacks against the people of Gaza. While it claims it is targeting Gaza’s armed resistance, Israel is killing and terrorizing civilians in what appears to be a lead-up to a possible invasion.

Please also call the Obama administration to exert diplomatic pressure on Israel to bring about an immediate ceasefire and to initiate an investigation of Israel's misuse of U.S. weapons against Palestinians in this and previous attacks.

Friends,

Israel is engaged in a settler-colonialism that is in constant violation of international law, and if you were to believe 90% of US press coverage, it is Hamas who is entirely to blame in this recent conflict. The following articles help to set the record straight, IMO. The articles are from:

-Ira Chernus is Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder
-Richard Falk is the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Palestinian human rights. An international law and international relations scholar who taught at Princeton University for forty years
-Glenn Greenwald is a columnist on civil liberties and US national security issues for the Guardian. A former constitutional lawyer, he was until 2012 a contributing writer at Salon.
-Patrick Higgins is a writer living in Detroit.

Please check them out... The attached cartoons provide some perspective.

PS. Please forward widely.

Obama Weaves Web of Deceit on Gaza War

The Latest Gaza Catastrophe
Many aspects of the current assault on Gaza pass under the radar screens of world conscience.

by Richard Falk

http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/11/18-5

excerpt: "Gaza remains occupied and essentially helpless, and Israel as occupier has no legal or ethical right to engage in war against the people and government of Gaza, which incidentally was elected in internationally monitored free elections in early 2006."

Stop Pretending the US is an Uninvolved, Helpless Party in the Israeli Assault on Gaza
The Obama administration's unstinting financial, military and diplomatic support for Israel is a key enabling force in the conflict

by Glenn Greenwald

http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/11/17-8

excerpt: "But pretending that the US - and the Obama administration - bear no responsibility for what is taking place is sheer self-delusion, total fiction. It has long been the case that the central enabling fact in Israeli lawlessness and aggression is blind US support, and that continues, more than ever, to be the case under the presidency of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner."

Who Started It?
Bloodbath in Gaza
by PATRICK HIGGINS

http://www.counterpunch.org/2012/11/15/bloodbath-in-gaza/

excerpt: "The attacks are part of a larger and massively depressing spectacle of a usurping colony forcing a population into a wall-enclosed ghetto and bombing them in the name of Judaism and the Jews."
