Rally and Speakout to Stop New Fees at CSUMB

Date:
Tuesday, November 13, 2012
Time:
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Location Details:
Library Plaza at CSU Monterey Bay
100 Campus Center, Seaside, CA

Rally and Speak Out from 3-5pm at the Library Plaza on Tuesday, November 13th!

The CSU Board of Trustees will be voting on 3 new fees on November 14th. They want to impose them even if Prop 30 passes and there are no budget cuts this year!

Students for Quality Education is organizing a state-wide campaign against these fees. It will culminate with demonstrations across the state!

On Tuesday, November 13th, the day before the Board of Trustees vote on the fees, we will rally on campus and Speak Out against these new fees. We'll chant so loud that the Board of Trustees can hear us all the way in Long Beach!

The new fees are:

- Super-senior Fee: Students with more than 150 units would pay an additional $372 per unit, which is what out of state students pay (They also want to raise out of state tuition).

- Course Repeat Fee: Students who repeat a class would pay an additional $100 per unit for that class, and wouldn't be able to take more than 15 units that semester.

- Third-tier Tuition Fee: Every unit that students take past 16 units will cost an additional $200 per unit

Sign the petition against the fees!
