Please Join us in a discussion regarding the pros and cons of Proposition 36. California's "Three Strikes" law is 18 years old and is again the subject of heated debate. Proposition 36 would revise this law to impose a mandatory life sentence only when the new felony conviction is for a serious or violent crime. Speakers include: a representative from the Proposition 36 campaign; Manuel La Fontaine, All of Us or None; Ellen Barry, Ex. Director of Insight Prison Project, founding member of Legal Services for Prisoners with Children and Critical Resistance. |
