In this hr-plus sneak preview, Pixel Visions: High Art, Low Resolution examines the early life and growing subculture of Fisher Price PXL 2000 enthusiasts—how the first kids’ video camera, using a simple audiocassette, turned the film world on, and found its way to Hollywood.

Through interviews and rare footage, Koshkin demonstrates how this cheap plastic camera gave access to emerging artists attracted to its abstract b/w imagery. With Rick Linklater, Cecilia Dougherty, Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), Peggy Ahwesh, Craig Baldwin, and others.

PLUS the peripatetic Gerry Fialka, in the flesh with the latest from his famous fest: Clint Enns, Wago Kreider, Will Erokan, tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE and more! Gerry is due to deliver another of his legendary introductions to the material, touching on topics as diverse as James Joyce, Marshall McLuhan and Sadie Benning, a-punning all the while!! A buck will buy fans a cup o’ joe, spiked or no.
