Students & Workers Protest Appointment of Trustee To Run SFCC And Force Privatization
Students and workers protested the San Francisco Community College Board of Trustees who were intent on appointing a trustee to implement the cuts and austerity program of State Community College Chancellor Jack Scott and Accreditation head Barbara Beano. These pro-privatization operatives want to sell off parts of SFCC, cut teacher and staff wages and benefits.

The San Francisco Community College Board of Trustees voted almost unanimously voted to appoint a special trustee. Trustee Chris Jackson was the only challenge the power of this appointment and voted against it.
Angry students at SFCC protested the support for the special trustee who will impose austerity
The SFCC police tried to push the students out of the Trustee's meeting.
SEIU 1021 SFCC Chapter President Angela Thomas supported the appointment of a special trustee and also attacked the students for disrupting the meeting and not supporting the union members when they were taking numerous concessions and give-backs to the college. These concessions and furlough days were supported by her and the SEIU 1021 leadership as well as other unions.
