In this 1988 film, Amy Irving plays Izzy, a Manhattan bookstore clerk who spends her time hobnobbing with the modern literati. Izzy’s bubbie sets her up with a man whose hand is literally caught in the pickle jar. Mr. Pickle turns out to be a mensch, and Izzy is forced to choose between the old-world pickle merchant and a famous (but married) author.
Free matinee screenings are presented in conjunction with the Museum’s admission-free first Tuesdays of the month. INFO: http://www.thecjm.org, info [at] thecjm.org or call 415.655.7800. ADMISSION: FREE
