Peace Corps Director Aaron S. Williams will discuss how so many of the inequities that existed half a century ago, such as poverty, disease, illiteracy and hunger, still loom large in much of our world. However today, these injustices are often exacerbated by contemporary challenges, from climate change, to malaria, to HIV/AIDS. Such complex problems call for innovative solutions, and Peace Corps Volunteers have the creativity, flexibility and now the technology to contribute to results. These problem-solving skills coupled with two years spent mastering a new language and adapting to a new culture help shape Peace Corps Volunteers into global citizens prepared to embark on career paths in the global marketplace.
