The film follows the urban farming phenomenon in Detroit. Urban Roots is a timely, moving and inspiring film that speaks to a nation grappling with collapsed industrial towns and the need to forge a sustainable and prosperous future.
This documentary kicks off Cool it! The First Friday Film & Lecture Series at the Peace & Justice Center. We’ll examine how people around the world are finding creative ways to deal with the twin challenges of climate change and the collapse of capitalism. Cool drinks and snacks will be served.
Socializing and refreshments at 6:30; film starts at 7pm.
Suggested donation $10-$20 -- Free to students! No one turned away for lack of funds. This is a fundraiser for San Jose Peace & Justice Center
