Grab your hiking boots and picnic blankets! We’re taking you on a guided hiking tour through Lands End , in San Francisco. What better way to enjoy the season than exploring one of the city’s most beautiful locales, while mingling with a group of the Bay Area’s most eligible veg singles? Our hiking tour is open to vegans and vegetarians of all ages, and is LGBT and family friendly!

The group will hike through brilliant landscapes, past shipwreck views, pocket beaches, bath ruins and more stunning views.

After your tour– which lasts about an hour, and takes you along the coast of both San Francisco and the continent– you’ll enjoy a talk and demonstration by vegan chef Miyoko Schinner back at the West Fort Miley batteries.

During the talk, themed ”Entertaining with Wine and Cheese,” Chef Miyoko will discuss how to put together a vegan cheese platter.

Chef Miyoko is the author of 3 vegan cookbooks including The Now and Zen Epicure and Japanese Cooking: Contemporary and Traditional, and is publishing a new cookbook, Artisan Vegan Cheese, this fall. A former restaurateur and entrepreneur, Miyoko has her own cooking show, Miyoko’s Kitchen, and her food has been distributed nationwide.

Following the demo, you’ll sample Chef Miyoko’s gourmet vegan cheese as part of a buffet of fruits, veggies, crackers and beverages. We’ll have refreshments, but we encourage you to bring blankets and lunch for the full picnic experience. If you do decide to bring food, please pack plates, cups, etc, that are re-useable; but please, no glass!

We’ll have fun activities to help get everyone acquainted, and we encourage you to bring games as well! You’re also welcome to bring pets; just be sure to keep them on a leash.
