Palestinian Cultural Solidarity Night

CJP will be hosting our annual Palestinian Cultural Solidarity Night in the Merrill Cultural Center this year! The evening will feature Palestinian Debke, music, and poetry, as well as performances by other artists in solidarity with the Palestinian people. There will also be Palestinian/middle eastern food. Come celebrate cultural resistance to oppression and learn about the Palestinian people!

Remi Kanazi
A poet, writer, and activist based in New York City. He is the author of the new released collectionof poetry, Poetic Injustice: Writings on Resistance and Palestine and the editor of Poets For Palestine (Al Jisser Group, 2008). His political commentary has been featured by news outlets throughout the world, including Al Jazeera English, GRITtv with Laura Flanders, and BBC Radio. His poetry has taken him across North America, the UK, and the Middle East, and he recently appeared in the Palestine Festival of Literature as well as Poetry International. He is a recurring writer in residence and advisory board member for the Palestine Writing Workshop.

Combined with his reputation as being an intelligent ambassador for conscious Arab Hip-Hop with searing lyrical content and impeccable flow, Narcy is a rising force in the music and academia scene of Canada and internationally. Looking to share the experiences of being a non-traditional Muslim in the West, Narcy combines his thought-provoking lyrics with wit and humor to put listeners at east and open up a dialogue.
