Come explore the fundamentals of permaculture. Why is permaculture so vital? What are the ethics and principles supporting permaculture? How can we apply them to the creation and care of our gardens and our homes? Permaculture provides a toolbox for us to lay out a garden, plant it, harvest it and cook with it. Come learn more from teacher Christopher Shein. Christopher runs Wildheart Gardens, an edible & native permaculture nursery, design, and landscaping business in Oakland. He teaches at Merritt College, and helps run the Bay Area Seed Interchange Library and other urban agriculture projects. Please specify when registering if ASL interpretation is requested, (at least 10 working days in advance).
Cost: $25 general, $20 EC members, no one turned away for lack of funds. Info: 510-548-2220 x239, register [at] ecologycenter.org, http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/231321.
